How To Look Like You’re More Awake

Posted by Karissa Montania on

If you’ve been struggling with getting at least 8 hours of sleep every night, you’re not alone. Whether you’re scrolling through Instagram, catching up with friends, or taking forever to fall asleep, we know it’s easier said than done to get a good night’s rest. As for the next morning? Dull skin and dark under-eyes are just a couple of signs that you’re missing out on an extra few hours of sleep. We know that hitting the snooze button isn’t always an option, so we gathered a few tips on how to look like you’re more awake for those days when you need more than a cup of coffee to look well-rested.

Use An Eye Cream With Caffeine

Eye creams are a key part of any skincare routine, but it’s especially important to use eye creams when you want to revitalize tired-looking eyes. And while we all know caffeine helps us to look and feel more awake, it might also surprise you to learn caffeine is a beneficial ingredient in your skincare products! Caffeine is an antioxidant that helps to brighten skin, relieve puffiness, and reduce wrinkles. Which is exactly why it’s the perfect ingredient to have in your eye cream products! Our Kona Peptide Hawaiian Eye Cream is a creamy-balm texture that melts into the skin and helps to visibly reduce the appearance of dark circles. Other than caffeine, the Kona Peptide Hawaiian Eye Cream also features island ingredients such as kukui nut oil, spirulina extract, and coffee berry fruit extract to restore delicate skin around the eyes.

Moisturize

Another tip to help you look like you’re more awake? Moisturize! Using a moisturizer on your face will help hydrate your skin and give you a glowing complexion. A moisturizer with hydrating ingredients such as glycerin, kukui nut oil, and niacinamide will help to make your skin appear less dull and more refreshed. One of our favorite Hanalei products, the Makai Marine Hawaiian Face Moisturizer includes all three of those hydrating skincare ingredients (and more!). The Makai Marine Moisturizer features a gel-cream formula that works to improve skin firmness and replenish moisture. A lightweight, hydrating moisturizer is perfect for giving your skin a refreshing boost for those nights when you didn’t get a wink of sleep.

Use A Face Sculpting Tool

If you feel like you’re looking tired and your skin needs a pick-me-up, you can’t go wrong with a face sculpting tool like a gua sha. The trendy skincare product offers a number of benefits such as increased circulation and reduced puffiness. If you haven’t used a gua sha before, it’s important to remember to start off with a clean face! We recommend cleansing your face and applying a face oil or serum onto your face before using a gua sha. Next, gently glide the gua sha over your face in an upward motion, following lymphatic flow. Next time you're struggling to catch some z’s, don’t forget to try a face sculpting tool to help brighten your complexion.
